Kada je Fidija projektirao Partenon u Ateni, nije niti slutio da su karijatide
na hramu pljunuta Izabela Šimunović. Oličenje
Zlatnog Reza. Sljedeći Zlatni rez spominje Platon u svom djelu "Timej",
kada opisuje pet pravilnih geometrijskih tijela tetrahedron, kocku,
oktahedron, dodekahedron i ikosahedron. To djelo niti među suvremenicima
nije bilo posebno popularno. Izabela je kao
mala više voljela čitati "Obranu Sokratovu". Euklid je u svom
djelu Elementi dao prvu zabilježenu definiciju zlatnog reza, koji je nazivao
"ekstremnim i zlim mjerilom" Rujana Jeger, lipanj 2007. |
When Phidias (490430 BCE) made the Parthenon statues that seem to embody
the golden ratio, he didn´t even suspect that they are spitting images of
Izabela Simunovic. Embodiment of the Golden Ratio. Plato (427347 BCE),
in his Timaeus, describes five possible regular solids (the Platonic solids,
the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron), some of
which are related to the golden ratio. That book was never popular, even
in his time. When she was a kid, Izabela preferred In defence of Socrates.
Euclid (c. 325c. 265 BCE), in his Elements, gave the first recorded definition
of the golden ratio, which he called, as translated into English, "extreme
and mean ratio" )]When She was a kid, Izabela was given a book called
Još nam samo ale fale (Dragons are the only thing we miss) by Dusko Petricic
and Ljubivoje Rsumovic. In the book there was a poem called Zurkata na
akrepite (A ball of Akreps). An Akrep is a very ugly and mean being that
appears in fairy tales. But the origin of its name is Greek and comes from
the first word of Euclid´s name for Golden ratio - mean ?????. They say
that HC Andersen was as ugly as an Akrep. But it is less widely known that
he was making paper cuts of trolls, dancers and caracters from his fairy
tales. His father was a woodcarver. Her favourite woodsaw, Izabela got from
her father. He also appears in her papercuts. He is the Sitting Man. Fibonacci (11701250) mentioned the numerical series now named after him in his Liber Abaci; the Fibonacci sequence is closely related to the golden ratio. Only freaks like Izabela knew about it, but now it is widely popular, thanks to Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. If you need a handy password used by another half a million people or so, write down: 1 1 2 3 5 8 etc. Luca Pacioli (14451517) (has nothing to do with the famaous Paciotti shoes) defines the golden ratio as the "divine proportion" in his Divina Proportione. We don´t know if the famous american transvestite and musician Divine when choosing his atistic name had precisely this book on mind, but many divas were known by their divine proportions. It is not known if they corresponded to Golden Ratio, because Pacioli´s long time friend Leonardo da Vinci drew a Vitruvian Man. A man. We don´t know is it because he had a problem finding female models for his nudes, or he simply preferred men. Today, we see more and more women undergoing different kinds of cutting, so they would come near to the contemporary beauty canon. Some critics suspect that it is 1:1,6 between the head and the breast. Breast being bigger, of course. Izabela is not such a woman. She is proud of her head. Johannes Kepler (15711630) describes the golden ratio as a "precious jewel": "Geometry has two great treasures: one is the Theorem of Pythagoras, and the other the division of a line into extreme and mean ratio; the first we may compare to a measure of gold, the second we may name a precious jewel." One could claim the same for Izabela: when she writes or speaks, she frequently uses extreme and mean measure, but otherwise, she is a rare jewel. Charles Bonnet (17201793) points out that in the spiral phyllotaxis of plants going clockwise and counter-clockwise were frequently two successive Fibonacci series. Izabela owns a couple of pot plants, but was unable do check this theory. Martin Ohm (17921872) is believed to be the first to use the term golden ratio to describe this ratio. Izabela is extremely thankful. Edouard Lucas (18421891) gives the numerical sequence now known as the Fibonacci sequence its present name. He didn´t need a lot of imagination to do that, did he? Mark Barr (20th century) uses the Greek letter phi (?), the initial letter of Greek sculptor Phidias's name, as a symbol for the golden ratio.`Phi like Phidias, said he. Rada Vnuk and Zlatko Simunovic named the baby girl born on June 1st 1970 name Izabela. Zlatko cut some fine prosciutto in her name. In 1:1,6 ratio. Salvador Dalí explicitly used the golden ratio in his masterpiece, The Sacrament of the Last Supper. The dimensions of the canvas are a golden rectangle. Izabela had a performance called The Last Supper in Dubrovnik. She even invited the mannequin, Nora. Nora had divine proportions. Australian sculptor Andrew Rogers's 50-ton stone and gold sculpture, entitled Golden Ratio, is installed outdoors in Jerusalem. Rogers donated the sculpture. The height of each stack of stones, beginning from either end and moving toward the center, is the beginning of the Fibonacci sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8. While living in Australia, Izabela Simunovic stepped onto the loose man hole lid of street which weights roughly a ton. The lid hit Izabela across the nose. The authorities denied any responsibility for the accident, stating that it was an Act of God. Ever since, Izabela sometimes wear a bears to cover up the scar on her nose. And when naked, she looks like an Act of God. But that is not all: psychological studies tried to prove that the human perception of beauty is based on Golden Ratio, which never stopped men from throwing themselves under Izabela´s feet. In geometry, ? is used for pentagons, like those on football often used pattern in Isabela´s artwork. She says it is a sybol for Man. The artwork of Izabela Simunovic can be bought with cash or card. AmEx, Visa and Mastercard have ratio of 1,586, which roughly corresponds to Golden Ratio. Please keep in mind the acute pain due to paper cuts this artist suffered. Since paper cuts usually hardly bleed, pain receptors are exposed to air, which axplains why the pain caused by stimulation of a large number of surface pain receptors last as long as it does. Not to mention the irritation caused by bleach treated paper. Random orientation od collagen tissue in the skin makes it prick resistant. But cuts are something else. We cannot resist them.
